It is not known how Chlorine was originally created, but what is known has been graciously provided within the following document. Please advise that the content here is constantly changing so it may not be accurate. Use caution when seeking treatment as various strains can drastically change Chlorine’s effect on the host. We use the word ‘host’ loosely, it should be known that this disease is hard to contract and is not actually a parasite either…

Overall symptoms include:

Darkened hair
Cataracts or, loss of pigment of the pupils.
Overall skin pigment loss
Frailty. Loss of bone and muscle mass
Inability to maintain body temperature.
Also related: Loss of perception of temperature changes
Psychotic delusions resulting in unpredictable mood swings
Color blindness
Increased hemoglobin O2 levels

 

 

Strains (Background):
Chlorine has been found in increasing amounts within the past ten years. Up until this point little was known of the event codename “Deimos” other than the location. After rigorous searching through select NOVITAS databases, and a large amount of my personal capital, bits of information have been found with enough related facts to piece together a general story.  The strange thing, found when researching this event, is the heavy usage of the word “Chlorine” we assume this is relating to the elemental compound, but based on the context and syntax it is readily apparent that the term is, in fact, being used to describe something living. What exactly this is we are still not sure.

That being said, this is known of the survivors of the Deimos Project and the subject “Chlorine.” Important excerpts have been lit for your convenience.

The survivors were for all intents and purposes relatively unharmed, suffering only minor trauma and injuries such as: dehydration, malnutrition, increased blood loss, minor fractures and torn ligaments. However, out of the total 20 man unit only 7 remained, the other 13 were not found, recovered, or noted for in any way. Something happened in sector 15, this is known, what happened remains a mystery. It is presumed that Chlorine (which will henceforth be abbreviated “CL1” due to both conciseness and a related later event which brings up much debate on the nature of the object in question) was related to the disappearances of the 13 soldiers, however no concrete evidence to link CL1 to this particular event has been found to support that suspicion. What is known, based off of intensive research in chemical, biological, mechanical, and technical databases, is that before this event CL1 did not appear in any of NOVITAS’ logs. It is assumed that NOVITAS themselves used the Deimos Project to create CL1 as a subject for their own goals, but this is still in question. The complex usage of technical terms continues to confuse the evidence.

CL1 is found in increasing amounts in the following documents. Please note that these documents are classified and it is punishable by death to be caught with them. Here are select excerpts that pertain mostly to CL1:

“Log: 3.4 year unlisted. Chlorine has been continually showing success. The development has been far beyond the standards of the NOVITAS superiors; given certain conditions Chlorine even creates its own chemical compounds that go beyond what was even thought possible. The possibilities here are definitely pleasing. More research will be done towards the usage of Chlorine. There is hope we will have success.”

“Log: 3.27 year unlisted. Chlorine continues to progress beyond assumed curves. Yet again there is much hope. But some have noticed a small change in the general behavior; it seems as though Chlorine has become increasingly volatile when subjected to contact with certain animals. Mostly this reaction is related to primates, and other subhumans, though it has not been limited to such. There has been little harm to either Chlorine or the other subjects. Minor psychological intervention can fix any problems”

“Log: 5.16 year unlisted. All contact with life forms has been ceased. Chlorine is too volatile for human handling.”

“Log: 7.12 year PRESENT. After slight modification of the base Chlorine has come out as expected, production will continue as normal. Whoever thought up Deimos was a genius. End log”

Research continued at the point of this new knowledge. Apparently sometime between 5.16 and 7.12 CL1 was changed to become more acceptable to NOVITAS’ standards. The exact modifications remain a mystery as up until that point it seems as though Chlorine annihilated anything it came in contact with. This new strain of Chlorine should be known as CL2, apparently it is stable, but the nature of both its stability and usage is subject to assumption.
