01 WONDER :: merveille.

Ciro opens the show with a brief singing solo; the stage is light in a single white spotlight.

Belle
C'est un mot qu'on dirait inventé pour elle

Un oiseau qui étend ses ailes pour s'envoler

One silk aerialist [dmitri] works in white, and appears to be the object of attention.
Several other dancers enter one by one, gradually increasing the amount of light on stage.
Full chorus repeats the opening stanzas, revoiced in full chords from the solo.

The white lights full on the dancers undergo a transformation to light purple
contortionists enter the ring [mika, anouk, npc]
Torch begins a fire act in center-ring with a faint white flame & fans (potassium chloride)

Torch's fire act continues
Aku enters, relieving each of the contortionists one by one
Puck enters, starting a brief juggling act with Torch. Colors settle into a truer purple.
Torch exits, leaving Puck behind, juggling absently on his own; colors fade to a pale yellow.

Aku and Puck, juggling and free-running.
Each tosses a ball/pin/etc out to the rest of the floor crew, who join them for gymnastics on the ground.

Lights shift to a stronger yellow.
All floor gymnastic act/hand balancers/etc to the stage. Silk aerialists enter and take their places at the bottoms of their silks at this time. Silks are white, so as to reflect and obtain the colors of light which are cast on them (in this case, yellow)

Light shifts to golden orange. (warm golden tones)
Silk aerialists ascend on their silks and their acts progress in each ring [dmitri, dashau, etc]
Silk aerialists do not dismount -- their acts do not conclude --- they instead coccoon themselves in their silks as the trapeze groups begin. Lights avoid their positions.

Golden tones continue as trapeze groups all perform.
Final act, center ring, is reserved for Chouette and Alouette.

Lights shift to green.
Trapeze artists dismount and lights return to the silk aerialists, who complete their acts by working to the floor as the lights transition

Lights green
Puck, Aku, Torch reenter. Torch's act now uses copper based flame for green lighting.
Ultimately, Puck and Aku argue; ultimately, Torch's symbolic character leaves with Aku.
Dancers in gray and black enter on the floor and Puck, lost in their midst, tosses a ball up to the highwire.

Lights switch to gray as soon as June catches the ball on the highwire. She begins her act in a normal fashion, until the dancers below begin to crowd up the ladders. She looks at the ball in her hands, frozen halfway, then back to the dancers crowding the line, and leaps.
Lights snap to black so as to hide her landing on a safety net and subsequent disappearance from stage.

Russian bar progression. The first gymnast enters in a gray light flicker, which increases as each of the next joins -- and moves to red.

Each of the three rings is crowded with multiple acts and filled with people -- fire [strontium chloride] is used heavily, lights are red. Floor dancers engage in fights, Russian bars continue, aerial ring work [circeaux].
Background music is strongly percussive.
Torch, center-stage, does an act with staff, circled by Puck and Aku, who appear to be arguing and engaging in a fight. Torch's staff burns out right as the percussion reaches a big hit, wherein the lights go dim, except for those on the circeaux, which fade through purple to blue tones, and the three center-stage.
Aku picks her up and carries her out for the transition.
Puck takes a moment longer, taking the staff and exiting opposite.

Circeaux. Blue. Half of the dancers and gymnasts below exit, while the lights are dim on them.
Those remaining on the floor move slowly, as if stunned.

Colors shift to a more melancholy, but slightly lighter, shade of blue.
Dancers on the floor include the ringleader, for smooth transition, working as one of them.
A single silk aerialist returns to the sky, [dashau], and as she works her way up --
The blue tones fade to white --

Dashau hides inside her silks at the top; and a single dancer [ fatima ] continues work about the ringleader.

Ciro closes the show with the same lines with which it opened --
